About us

Welcome to the Australia Post page.

We have a few values we hold ourselves to and they’re the founding principles of our online spaces including our Facebook page. If you’d like to follow us or interact with our pages we ask that you observe them.

These rules help protect the safety of our customers and staff while demonstrating our social purpose and commitment to the community: to create connections and opportunities that matter to every Australian.

Our three simple rules are:

1. Respect everyone

Our online community is as diverse as Australia, so you’ll run into people that see the world differently from you. Our community is inclusive. We won’t always agree but we do insist on civil, respectful debate and discussion. We won’t accept cruelty, harassment or abuse, ever - whether that’s aimed at other people on the page or at our staff.

2. Interact safely

This page is a place where people should feel safe to be themselves and to do their jobs without fear of abuse or harassment. We encourage all members of the community to report posts which violate Facebook’s Terms of Service, or to contact us by Private Message if you believe that someone is disregarding the house rules.
Safety also means taking ownership for what you post and your interactions with other people. Make sure you know what you’re responsible for legally and how to protect your privacy when you post on our Facebook page by reviewing the Australia Post Privacy Policy. Never reveal personal details on our Facebook page including your address, phone number, payment details or login credentials.

3. Help us improve

Your ideas and constructive criticism about Australia Post are welcome. We’ll talk to you about what we’re doing based on your feedback. The goal is to keep improving – together.
We also have some specific rules about what is allowed on our page.

Your comment or post may be taken down if it:

• Is defamatory, indecent, offensive, discriminatory, misleading, off-topic, unlawful, threatening or contains swearing

• Breaches the privacy of yourself, an Australia Post staff member or another person (including photos and videos)

• Is a promotional post, contains advertising or links to third party websites

• Includes personal attacks, name-calling or trolling

• Is part of a co-ordinated group attack on the Australia Post brand or one of our executives or staff members

We reserve the right to ban any Facebook users who fail to follow these House Rules and delete comments at our discretion. Due to the volume of requests received on our page, moderation decisions are final and questions about these decisions will not be responded to.

Employees participating in discussions on our Facebook Page are reminded of their obligations under Australia Post’s Employee Social Media Policy which can be found on the intranet.

These guiding principles are intended to create the best possible social media experience for our followers, and for others who might visit the page. We think they’re good sense. They too may change over time, so check in once in a while.
Finally, if you need help with Australia Post’s products and services, we invite you to first read our FAQs for self-service assistance or contact us via Private Message. If this item was sent within Australia then I would say that item has been lost in transit and you need to speak with the sender to advise it has not arrived. There are very little outbound flights from Australia to the rest of the world, and when there is Australia post and other companies are limited to how much product can be up lifted, so it is stored and uplifted in chronological order. Also seeing that there is almost NO passengers, airlines are removing seats to load the cabin with product trying to minimise any further delays.  2

I’m confused. When your customers request to have an item taken to a post office, as well as cancel any safe drop requests, why do your employees feel that they can leave 400$ items on the doorstep, in plain view of the road. It’s not even showing up as being left in a safe place.. it’s showing up as having been delivered. No one was home! I did not give any permission for it to be left. It’s clearly been signed for by the postie and dumped at my door, completely disregarding my requests, or he has delivered it to the wrong person. I’m honestly disgusted. I want to lodge a complaint - that item was NOT meant to be left there.  1
5 days ago
Australia Post - Hi Elissa, I'm sorry to hear that your parcel was left in spite of your efforts to make sure it wasn't. You should definitely lodge a complaint about this. I can see that you've already sent us a PM about this, which is great. If you let us know your address and contact number (just so we can make sure the details we have are up to date) along with the tracking number, we can raise the complaint for you. Alice

I just wonder when will my international package be leaving Australia, its been over 1 and a half month ....... I understand this is a crazy time, but if you have ship it by sea, it would have been arrived by now......... and the "Tracking isn't available right now due to technical issues. Please try again later. " is not helping when my client demands at least where about the item is and at least a ETA.  1

Australia Post - Hi Ambrose, if you'd like to Private Message us with the tracking number, we can certainly have a look for you and advise further. It is taking the team longer than normal to respond, as we answer messages in the order they're received and are getting considerably more than usual, but we are working 24/7 to get back to everyone as quickly as possible. -Lou

Australia Post - Hi Luke, the tracking number you have provided to us isn't valid with our network, as the global website is not an affiliated website of ours and is instead related to the UK courier service. You will need to either contact the global website directly, or provide us the standardised international tracking number. It normally starts with 2 letters, 9 numbers, then 2 letters. - April

Australia Post - Hi Marty, I appreciate this may be frustrating. Someone will respond to your Private Message when it's reached in the queue; this is taking a bit longer than normal, I'm sorry, as we answer messages in the order they're received and are getting considerably more than usual, but we are working 24/7 to get back to everyone as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you can find information on the current situation with international deliveries, including estimated transit times and how long we need to allow before investigating, at https://auspo.st/2xpibtc -Lou

Australia Post Lou - This is how it reads so a bit confusing :- (Economy service is fully suspended due to flight cancellations, airport closures and the measures implemented to limit and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Please leave a minimum of 10 business days after the estimated delivery date below to raise queries on items travelling via air and 30 business days after the estimated delivery date for items travelling via sea. For items sent between 25th March and 30th April, additional delivery delays on top of the below have occurred. We are working hard to process all items on hand and deliver them as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.) Not sure how you confirmed mine is Standard but cheers. Gives me a little hope.
Australia Post Hi Lou. Thanks for your reply and I appreciate that there's not much you can do personally except try to pacify upset customers. I've just read the suggested info and now I'm more concerned than ever! Presuming my parcel has been sent Economy Air, that service has been fully suspended?? Now with Express taking priority and Australia Post suggesting everyone sends via Express from now on, my parcel won't be going anywhere! I don't understand how Australia Post can just decide to suspend a 'service' that has been paid for??

Hi I have a parcel shipping from Australia to New Zealand with tracking number ET136368041AU, the parcel has been stayed in Melbourne airport for 9 days, this is a bit urgent. I tried to call but never get through. Could you please help to advise when can I received it ?
Australia Post - Hi Frank, I've had a look at ET136368041AU, and I can let you know that there are two good things working in your favour with this one. Express items are still prioritised over all other international mail, so this one will be as close to the front of the queue for a flight as possible. The second is that it is heading for NZ - there are still flights heading over the Tasman, so it hopefully won't take too long to get there. You mentioned this one is urgent though - can you tell me what is inside this one? - Katie  1

Neil Allison you probably have no idea how long and hard Aust Post have worked to keep the deliveries going during this difficult time. Postal workers have been away from their families working weekends to deliver this service throughout this wide country!  7
1 week ago
Hey Judy. I completely agree with your point on posties. The vast majority of them are awesome. A few could do with some retraining though. My beef isn't with posties, it's with the infrastructure (or lack of) behind what they do. You have yourself a great day too 😊  3
1 week ago
Neil Allison well Neil, I have to agree to disagree on the posties performing their tasks, I believe they work very hard even before this Pandemic and perform their job to a high standard. Don’t forget even before the virus, a lot of people shop online now so the work load increases, not necessarily the amount of workers. In regards to the CEO of post I agree with you there, she is paid way too much for what she does. Nice chatting with you, have a great day 😊  2

Australia Post Such kinda Facebook posts makes all Australians (and people who have sent them something within March-May) feel annoyed and angry! It is such a stupid decision to stop processing and post delivery! Hey guys, covid-19 can not be delivered via parcels and envelopes. You just have cut off Australia from the rest of the world.  2
1 week ago
Australia Post - Hi Yuliya, I can understand if you weren't able to post an item to overseas that you would be frustrated. It wasn't our choice to stop sending to certain countries, it's simply that there are no flights available for us to get mail items to those countries. Without transportation there is no way that we can transport mail. There are many countries around the world that have completely stopped all mail services so I feel very lucky that this isn't the case in Australia. For information on what services are still available for international parcels you can visit https://auspo.st/2xpibtc Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. - Nathan  5

I completely understand we don't get it right on every item but from my 13 years at Australia Post I have been able to see the amazing work our network does and how much they care about doing the right thing for customers especially in emergency situation. I've had delivery centre managers going to work in the middle of the night to find a late applied for passport in a pile of hundreds of parcels and there's many stories of posties helping out people in the community from rescuing them from burning homes, helping choking toddlers to carrying their groceries home. I'm incredibly proud of Australia Post and the company's and staff's dedication to Australian communities :) You have a great day and let us know if there's ever anything we can help with. - Nathan

The current situation is pretty tough for our customers and staff. Everyone is trying their hardest to hold on to some semblance of normality while trying to adapt to the massive changes. If there's ever anything you'd like to discuss or that you need help with please let me know. Always happy to lend a hand. - Nathan

Australia Post - Hi Kym, You may not realise, but mail isn't getting a "it's left the country" scan, so while the parcel may still be here, it also may have already left. What's the tracking number? Alice  1

Australia Post - Hey Tanya, We'll do our best to get any that were sent while we were still offering the International Economy Air service onto a flight but it's very difficult. There hasn't been a decision to return these items to the sender for a refund of the postage at this stage but things are constantly changing so all we can do at this point is to ask for your forgiveness and patience while we get things sorted out. - Nathan

Australia Post - We're only able to reply to any messages you send us I'm afraid Jono! You're welcome to reply here with the tracking number and we can give any general information, but we typically need personal details that can't be posted publicly to assist further. - Nick
2 weeks ago
Australia Post - Hi Jono Charteris, I'm really sorry your parcel hasn't arrived and can understand how concerned and frustrated you'd be especially given you haven't been able to get the help you need. I'm more than happy to help out with some info and advice here. For your parcel, there are delays of around 2-3 weeks to New Zealand though this is the average only so there are outliers that will take longer. The delays have been caused by the lack of international flights. We are working with our airline partners to get mail onto any available flights but there are going to be significant delays until things begin to normalise. At this stage all we can do is request patience but if it does contain urgent medication you can call us on 13 13 18. It's currently taking a week to reply to private messages and for international cases it may be 3 weeks or longer. This is due to the immense volume of enquiries we've received from concerned customers not aware of the delays. You can visit our website https://auspo.st/2xpibtc for all international updates. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns Jono. - Nathan

Jono Charteris theres been delays international since 30 march, updates have been on website & app too with all the detsils & should be public notices in store...but stsff should had mentioned it still ..."you are aware of the delays ?" etc  1
2 weeks ago
Scott you can’t really compare to mail coming the other way. Post offices in New Zealand have been closed during their lockdown, so there is probably zero backlog of items waiting to leave their country as the public couldn’t go to the PO and post things. On the flip side, Australians have still been mailing items to NZ this whole time as AusPost stayed open, so there’s a backlog of items waiting to get on the limited flights to NZ - and probably a backlog or arrived items in NZ awaiting delivery by NZ Post. Apples and oranges.

I have had a parcel 'on board for delivery' since 9am yesterday. I even received a text message to say it was coming and it never arrived and it still hasn't arrived today. I don't hold out much hope, we had 4 parcels delivered to us over 3 days and not one of them was for anyone at our address, three were for the people next door and one was for someone in the next street!

Australia Post - Hi Leanne, I'm sorry to hear that your parcel has been "coming today" for 2 days now. That's a pretty clear sign that something's gone wrong that we need to investigate. Please jump on over to our website and fill in the form here https://auspo.st/2N9kmEj making sure to include the tracking number and your address so that we've got everything we need to investigate. In February, #Postie Veronica planted pots of violas to hand out for Easter. When self-isolation was imposed, the violas were in full bloom and ready to serve a different purpose. Veronica began gifting pots to anyone who she felt was having a hard day, and also dropped them off at her elderly customers' doorsteps along with their parcel. "I call violas happy plants because of their smiling face. I don't need people to know where the flowers came from. I just want to brighten their day." We'd like to #ThankAPostie. Australia Post - Hi Lyka, I appreciate this may be concerning. The challenges presented by the pandemic mean there are delays currently due to additional safety measures we're taking at our facilities, limited domestic flights, and heavily increased volumes as more people start shopping online. We're doing all we can to get parcels to our customers as fast as we can. I can see you've sent us a Private Message; if you can include the tracking number there, and your delivery address, we'd certainly be able to look into the matter for you and advise further. -Lou

Australia Post - Hi Sia, Thanks so much for reaching out to us and I'm sorry your parcel has been caught up in the delays and sincerely hope it hasn't caused any problems though I completely get the disappointment you'd be feeling. We're recommending allowing an extra 3-7 business days for all parcels but we are also seeing some items delayed around 3 weeks. The best we can advise is to try to be patient if you can and allow more time. Parcels are still moving through the network and being delivered, it's just taking much more time than any of us are used to. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns other wise I hope you have a lovely afternoon. - Nathan
4 weeks ago
Australia Post - Hey Sandy,, Let's have a look into this, could you please PM me the article ID that you're tracking and which address you're expecting this to? I can assure you that it's not simply sitting stationary in Melbourne, that's simply the location of one of our major sorting facilities. At the moment Australia Post tracking works on a check point system. This means that, as your parcel passes through certain facilities (sorting centres, delivery centres and Post Offices) new track events will happen. In between that we trust that they’re enroute to the next checkpoint. It may be that you don't typically notice this break from tracking as much, however with the cancellation of a majority of Australia's domestic flights, we're moving a lot of our items via truck and on that leg of the journey you won't see any tracking events. Regardless, let's check up on that. ~ Zerahiah
4 weeks ago
Australia Post - Hey LInda, I'm so sorry to hear your parcel has been delayed so long and can understand why you'd be concerned. I'm happy to help out with some info and advice. In general, we will have access to the same information through our internal tracking as you do so won't be able to provide specific information if there haven't been any new scans. I can however let you know that we are seeing delays of up to 3 weeks on some items on top of the normal time frames so hopefully your parcel comes through soon. If you're unable to wait any longer though I would recommend you reach out to the sender to let them know it hasn't arrived to see what they recommend doing. They may be seeing their customers waiting for around the same amount of time or feel that it would be appropriate to initiate an investigation with us. Let me know if you have any other questions Linda otherwise I hope you have a lovely afternoon. - Nathan

Christopher Tully we are home every day. My husband was very ill so never left home. We constantly got cards in our letterbox and yet they never came to the front door. So frustrating to have to leave my husband and go to the post office. I kept complaining but nothing was done. We have had some parcels delivered where they have stood at end of veranda and just frisbeed it. Thankfully they are more careful atm if very slow.

Australia Post - Hi Dhani, sorry for the delay in response! We're being inundated with messages and it's extending our usual response times, no rudeness intended, we're trying to get to everyone as fast as we can. We're currently experiencing large network delays, with items that normally take 2 -4 days for delivery instead taking 4 -10. I can see you have private messaged us, so we will continue to discuss this with you there with the tracking number. - April  1

Hi Australia Post. I have raised multiple complaints about no delivery card left. It's been a whole month and a half now with 6 items total that I did not receive the delivery cards. I have to go through the guess work and ask the sender to give me the tracking and they then found out that its already in Post Office for collection. I spoke to the lady at the post office. She said she told them multiple times but because she's not their boss they said they didn't care. I have raised this online and through your call centre a few times. You said you will send to relevant department. This morning again no card left. It's a painful experience when driver doesn't care to leave the card, I don't really care about the attempt delivery because they never do, but leaving a card I think should still happen. Can you do something again? Or I will still have to go through guess work for every delivery?  1

And yet we got a part from Melbourne, ordered on 25 April (a holiday of course) and it arrived in Albany on 29 April. Have rarely had any problems with AustPost and have used them quite considerably. Sometimes the supplier is tardy getting it to the Post and sometimes there may be bottlenecks at airports which AustPost have no control over.  6

Seriously... Can you get any slower? I keep getting surveys about Australia Post services.... I can't put the zero you deserve. In all honesty, you really have no right or reason to be in business. Day by day the service is getting worse... Yet you keep jacking the prices up. The cost of a stamp is now $1.10... the cost of a litre of fuel is under a dollar... Do the maths of which would be quicker... Need a calculator? I'll send you one! 😒🙄😡... Pathetic, truly pathetic.  4

Dianne Swann not out were we are. We don't have that luxury. Believe it or not there are many parts of this country that still have very substandard services. In fact after 12 years and paying the highest water rates in the state we finally have water "fit for human consumption". So please, don't just assume everyone has the same, because they don't.

Australia Post I appreciate that Kate but we had been going through the same issues, long overdue, lost, extremely damaged and yes even theft long before the latest incident affecting the country Like for 2 years. Hence the reason we decided on doing our own deliveries here and interstate which has worked out cheaper, quicker and definitely less stressful.

My kid gets a delivery from Sydney within a week & I can’t get a package from Richmond to Geelong in 6 weeks?? I’m happy to wait but 6 weeks is out of control & when I’m told by an Aus Post employee that they’ve been told priority on Amazon & Cotton On parcels as they’ve threatened to tear up contracts due to their customers complaining about parcels taking so long then I start getting more than slightly annoyed. Parcels that have been sitting around longer should be being processed first  3

Lee Minton-connell If express post doesn't exist why are people still being charged for an express post option?? Also, I signed for a parcel only 2 days ago.........People are worried about the other stuff as well but this is what is Currently relevant to them. They are simply wanting answers from a business that is ignoring its customers. If you can't deliver a service then either stop it until you can or communicate with your customers clearly and openly. I have tired to get hold of Australia Post for a simple explanation as to why a package has been sitting at the depot, not moving, for 2 days but I cannot. I am simply wanting to plan when I need to be available for delivery to avoid another "unnecessary" trip to the post office to collect if I miss it.  1

He should get paid for the extra hours yes but at the end of the day it is none of our business how much anyone earns for a living. Yes we earn money to pay for bills etc but I think in this situation it's the dedication. With the virus currently present we have to learn to be patient , how long for? We don't know but let's not whinge it's not helping anyone.  1
